They say that “everyone knows” DJ Shamrod Watanabe, but that is untrue. We have it on authority that a small group of holdouts has never listened to him. If you’re in that isolated group, it’s time to join the mainstream. (Of course, you can dance! Duh!)
What’s the occasion? Well, the March issue of FOCUS Magazine is out for one thing! And we have four new artists in the FAIR gallery and Scylla Rhiadra‘s incredible art and photography in the Main Gallery.
Come dance and listen to music Friday, March 4th, at 6 pm SLT. Yes, it’s that time of the month: new FOCUS Gallery openings and release of the March issue of FOCUS Magazine!
First up will be Maxmillion Kleene live starting at six. Max streams into SL from Niagara Falls, Canada, and sings Rock/Pop/Alternative solo acoustic tunes covering old classics (CCR to Johnny Cash) to fun, newer hip stuff (Jack Johnson, Foo Fighters, Green Day, and Jason Mraz).
… to be followed at 7 pm SLT by the ever-popular DJ Jewell.
FOCUS and its friends, photographers, and artists are supporting the American Cancer Society’s benefit, “Relay for Life” by exhibiting for sale some of the best work produced within our group. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society and each image presented for sale is only 250 lindens (for those using dollars, that’s just one buck each).
All images have been donated by our photographers and artists
A big thanks should go out to FOCUS Director Wren Carling and to COZI owner Greg Parker who have donated their time and efforts to help in this project!
Stop by and browse. The FOCUS booth will be open until March 20th. And invite friends!
Dear Friends, Our Fair is going to conclude for this session tonight, but I hope you agree that it was an amazing and useful event. I want to thank our vendors who hopefully have made friends as well as sales. I want to thank the staff, who have worked to help me put together this complex event, but especially Wren Carling, our Director, who has put in hours that would be illegal in real life. I want to thank the live singers, DJs, and artists who have added music and education to our event and been very kind in accommodating to changes (some last minute ones!). I want to thank others but there are just too many to name.

But most of all I want to thank those of you who came to our Photo Fair, all, 5600 who came and supported this event simply by being here. It’s been proven to me yet again how FOCUS has a life of it’s own and that is because of YOU.
And now, as the Big Tent folds it’s doors… “Go out, see the world, marvel in its beauty, capture that essence of life, and live your lives to the fullest.” I will see you September for the next fair on September 9th- 25th!
In the last hours of the FOCUS Photo Fair (yes, the vendors are still open and doing business!) ♫♪ two hours of live music ♫♪♫ : Fly Kugin at 1 pm SLT followed by Jack Dryden at 2 pm SLT. This is the last entertainment of the Fair.
Fly Kugin is not only a superb performer but is both a professional musician and music teacher in Istanbul, Turkey. She has sung several times before at Photo Fair and she always delights her audiences! Jack Dryden: Currently singing a mix of older country music, pop, folk, and oldies including Waylon Jennings, Buffalo Springfield, Kodaline, and The Lumineers. He shares his love of music with an audience by aiming to provide a set with different styles and tempos. He lives in Clayworth, England, and has attended a couple of open mics in RL — but he is best known for his love of music and how he connects to audiences.
At noon SLT Freja (freeflying) at Unbound Spirit will be explaining the capabilities of her products at booth 27. Basically, that just means on the first floor, just to the left of that enormous “100000L” sign way up on the end wall.
Eye pose HUD, face pose HUD, and head and neck pose HUDs (to be seen in the Unbound Spirit’s booth) are just the summit of the mountain. They offer several animations — and artwork, too. And yes, the photo booth at their Photo Fair location has all kinds of fun poses for you to play with also!
The time to browse is over. It is time to choose what to get and to purchase it. Today. There is no later than today. Unfortunately, perhaps, Photo Fair does need to end. Luckily, the vendors are still open today, Friday, February 25, 2022. We are not saying goodbye yet — but the clock is ticking!
They say that “everyone knows” DJ Shamrod Watanabe, but that is untrue. We have it on authority that a small group of holdouts has never listened to him. If you’re in that isolated group, it’s time to join the mainstream. (Of course, you can dance! Duh!) Shamrod will be on stage for an hour at FOCUS Photo Fair at 6 pm SLT tonight, February 24th. This guy is cool! ♫♪♫♫♫♪♪
The one and only … Mr. Shamrod Watanabe! ♫♫♪♫
♫♫♪♫♫♫♪♫ ♫♫♪♫♫♫♪♫♫ ♫♪♫♫♫♪♫♫♫♪ ♫♫♫♪♫♫♫♪♫ ♫♫ ♪♫
After Shamrod, a live singer from the Philippines: Christine Sunshine! Christine handles pop, RnB, soft rock, classic country, country rock, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s music, and movie soundtracks as well.
Do you want to hear songs from The Carpenters, Diana Ross, Shania Twain, Anne Murray, Whitney Houston, and so on? You got it!
♫♪♪ If you missed Steve Who? — saxophonist extraordinaire from Scotland you have a second chance for this in just over an hour at noon SLT. He’ll be followed at 1 pm by Randy de Luciaat 1 pm SLT!
Who is Steve Who? Scottish saxophonist (both tenor and soprano saxes!), he hails from Ayrshire where he teaches music and works as a professional musician — and has since 1985. With Steve, expect anything from jazz to pop to classical to folk! — Oh, and what is Steve’s RL last name? Who knows!
And we’ll leave you guessing about Randy de Lucia right after Steve at 1 pm. Who is he? What will his live performance include? You need to come and find out. One thing for sure is that he’s worth it!
Today at 11 am SLT, Sandy will give a demonstration of her software at booth #9 (see photo). Those who missed a previous demo should find this very interesting. (Just ask anyone who was at a previous one!) One of the best things about the Photo Fair is that you can ask questions to the person best qualified to answer: the man or woman who makes the tools. Why not take advantage of that?
